U.S. Women: Don’t Avoid Pregnancy Due to Zika Virus

Women should avoid travel to areas affected by Zika and take measures to prevent mosquito bites in the U.S.

Knoxville Channel 8 logo 400x400Responding to mounting questions from his fertility patients, Dr. Rink Murray of Tennessee Reproductive Medicine told Knoxville CBS affiliate Channel 8 that women in the United States should not to delay having a baby because of the Zika virus.

“As frightening as the Zika virus may seem right now to mothers-to-be, there are multiple reasons it potentially poses a lesser risk than delaying having a baby,” said Murray.
